Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 ripe banana about 120g, peeled
  • 1 cup coconut milk unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup orange juice fresh or store-bought
  • 1 tablespoon shredded coconut optional, for garnish
  • 4-6 ice cubes optional, for a thicker smoothie

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Measuring cups
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 2 Serving glasses

Method

  1. Prepare all ingredients by peeling and slicing the banana, and measuring out the frozen fruit, coconut milk, and orange juice.
  2. Add the frozen mango, frozen pineapple, banana, coconut milk, and orange juice into the blender. If you'd like a colder or thicker smoothie, add the ice cubes as well.
  3. Blend on high speed for about 1 minute, or until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed to ensure even blending.
  4. Taste and adjust the consistency or sweetness as desired (add more orange juice for a thinner smoothie, or a teaspoon of honey for extra sweetness).
  5. Pour the smoothie evenly into two glasses.
  6. Garnish with shredded coconut on top if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your tropical getaway in a glass.

Notes

For a dairy-free and vegan version, use plant-based coconut milk and avoid honey.
Fresh fruit can be used instead of frozen, but the smoothie will be less thick; add extra ice if desired.
You can also add a scoop of protein powder or a handful of spinach for added nutrition without altering the tropical flavor.
