Ingredients

  • 2 medium oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 1 small banana
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional, adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes 8–10 cubes
  • 1/4 cup water or orange juice

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Measuring cups
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Citrus juicer optional

Method

  1. Peel and segment the oranges, removing any seeds.
  2. Peel the banana and break it into chunks.
  3. Add the orange segments, banana, Greek yogurt, and honey (if using) into the blender.
  4. Add the ice cubes and pour in the water or orange juice.
  5. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds or until smooth and creamy.
  6. Taste. Add more honey/maple syrup if a sweeter flavor is desired, and blend again briefly.
  7. Pour the smoothie into two glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

For a vegan version, use plant-based yogurt (like coconut or almond yogurt) and maple syrup instead of honey.
You can add a handful of spinach for a vitamin boost; it won’t change the flavor much, but will change the color.
To make it extra cold and creamy, freeze the banana beforehand.
Use freshly squeezed orange juice for the most vibrant taste.
