This bright and refreshing Detox Smoothie is loaded with nutrient-rich ingredients to help cleanse your system and kick-start your metabolism. It’s perfect for a light breakfast, post-workout snack, or a midday energy boost.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1 green apple, cored and chopped For extra fiber, don’t peel the apple if you like texture.
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1 cup cold coconut water Swap coconut water for filtered water if preferred.
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 6-8 ice cubes

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 set Measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 2 Glasses for serving

Method
 

  1. Thoroughly wash all fresh produce. Peel and chop the cucumber, core and chop the apple, and peel the ginger.
  2. Add spinach, cucumber, apple, pineapple, ginger, lemon juice, and coconut water to the blender.
  3. Add the ice cubes on top.
  4. Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes or until the mixture is completely smooth.
  5. Taste and adjust lemon juice or ginger to your liking if needed.
  6. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

  9. Add a handful of parsley or cilantro for a deeper detox effect.
  10. To sweeten, add 1-2 teaspoons of raw honey or a pitted date if desired.
