Date Smoothie

This creamy and naturally sweet date smoothie is a perfect breakfast or snack. Packed with fiber and a touch of cinnamon, it’s energizing, filling, and ready in minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 pieces Medjool dates, pitted If dry, soak in warm water for 5 minutes.
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk Can substitute with any non-dairy or regular milk.
  • 1 small ripe banana
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 8 pieces ice cubes

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 Small bowl (for soaking dates, optional)
  • 2 Glasses for serving

Method
 

  1. If your dates are very dry, soak them in warm water for 5 minutes to soften. Drain before using.
  2. Place the pitted dates, almond milk, banana, almond butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt into the blender.
  3. Blend on high until completely smooth.
  4. Add ice cubes to the blender and blend again until frothy and chilled.
  5. Pour into glasses and enjoy immediately.
  6. For an extra protein boost, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder if desired.

Notes

You can substitute any non-dairy milk, or regular milk, if you prefer.

Add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds or flaxseed for more fiber.
To adjust sweetness, use more or fewer dates according to taste.
This smoothie can be prepared up to 12 hours ahead and stored in the refrigerator; shake well before serving.
