Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen cherries
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt plain or vanilla
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or honey optional
  • 4 cubes ice optional, for a thicker texture
  • 1 teaspoon dark chocolate shavings for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons
  • 2 Glasses for serving

Method

  1. Add frozen cherries, banana, cocoa powder, Greek yogurt, almond milk, and maple syrup (if using) to your blender.
  2. If you prefer a thicker consistency, add the ice cubes.
  3. Blend on high speed for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth. Pause to scrape down the sides if needed.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup or honey if desired.
  5. Pour into two glasses.
  6. Top with dark chocolate shavings for an extra chocolaty finish (optional).
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

To turn this into a protein-packed smoothie, add a scoop of chocolate or vanilla protein powder.
You can use fresh cherries (pitted) instead of frozen. Add more ice to chill the smoothie.
Dairy-free? Use coconut yogurt instead of Greek yogurt.
For extra creaminess, add half an avocado.
