Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 1 large ripe banana peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup low-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional, for extra sweetness
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes if using fresh berries

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Measuring cups
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 2 Serving glasses

Method

  1. If using fresh blackberries, rinse them thoroughly under cool water. Peel and slice the banana.
  2. Add the blackberries, sliced banana, almond milk, Greek yogurt, and honey (if using) into the blender.
  3. If you’re using fresh berries, add ice cubes to the blender for a chilly, thicker smoothie.
  4. Blend on high speed for 45 seconds or until smooth and creamy.
  5. Taste, and adjust sweetness with more honey if desired.
  6. Pour the smoothie evenly into two glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

For a vegan version, use plant-based yogurt instead of Greek yogurt and substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
You can add a handful of spinach for extra nutrients; it won’t impact flavor noticeably.
If using frozen berries, omit the ice cubes for a smoother texture.
Adjust the milk quantity for a thinner or thicker smoothie.
