Ingredients

  • 1 small raw beet, peeled and chopped About 100 grams.
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1 medium apple, cored and chopped Can substitute with pear for a different flavor.
  • 120 ml orange juice, fresh or bottled 1/2 cup.
  • 60 grams plain Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt 1/4 cup.
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 120 ml water 1/2 cup.
  • 4 pieces ice cubes

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Vegetable peeler
  • 1 Knife and cutting board
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. If using raw beet, peel and chop it into small chunks. For a milder flavor, you can steam the beet for 2 minutes to soften.
  2. Chop the banana and apple into medium pieces for easier blending.
  3. Add chopped beet, banana, apple, orange juice, yogurt, grated ginger, water, and ice cubes into the blender.
  4. Blend on high until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness—add a small drizzle of honey or maple syrup if desired.
  6. Pour into two glasses and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For extra protein, add one tablespoon of chia seeds or a scoop of protein powder to the blender.
You can substitute the apple with pear for a different flavor.
If you don't have fresh beet on hand, use cooked or pre-packaged beet (but reduce blending time).
This smoothie is rich in fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, making it perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack.
