Ingredients
  

  • 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 1 cup cold milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • ½ cup plain yogurt for a vegan version, use plant-based yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch salt
  • 1 small lime, juiced optional, for brightness

  • 1 Measuring cups
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 1 Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Prepare the avocado by cutting it in half, removing the pit, and scooping the flesh into the blender.
  2. Add the cold milk, ice cubes, honey or maple syrup, yogurt, vanilla extract, salt, and lime juice (if using) to the blender.
  3. Blend on high until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure all ingredients are well mixed.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness if desired, adding more honey or milk if necessary.
  5. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
  6. For a vegan version, use plant-based milk and yogurt and maple syrup.
  7. You can freeze avocado chunks beforehand for an extra-chilled smoothie.
  8. Add a handful of spinach for a boost of greens without affecting flavor, if desired.
